The Derby at Epsom by chauffeur
The Derby at Epsom at Epsom Downs Racecourse. In 2027 it runs 4–5 June. The Derby is run over 1 mile, 4 furlongs and 10 yards on an undulating course. The first Derby was run in 1780. The race traditionally takes place on the first Saturday in June. From Oxford, where Ravensley is based, the venue is about an hour and 20 minutes by road (71.4 miles).
How the day runs
For drop-off, the organisers' rules apply. Anyone being dropped off at The Derby should go to Car Park 8, which is also the pick-up and drop-off point. For 2027 all parking is free, with pre-booking recommended. On dress, the guidance reads: A dress code applies in the Queen Elizabeth II Stand on Derby Day; other enclosures are relaxed. The chauffeur stays within reach for the whole day and brings the car round when you are ready to leave.
