The Glyndebourne Festival by chauffeur

Founded by John Christie and Audrey Mildmay, who opened the first Festival in 1934. The current opera house opened in 1994 and seats 1,250. From Oxford, where Ravensley is based, the venue is about 2 hours and 5 minutes by road (118.9 miles).
How the day runs
For drop-off, the organisers' rules apply. Cars should be pre-booked both ways as local availability is limited; drop-off and collection is at the set-down point shown on the grounds map. A large free audience car park is managed by attendants. On dress, the guidance reads: black tie is traditional during the Festival (May-August); autumn season is smart casual. On-site changing facilities are available. The chauffeur stays within reach for the whole day and brings the car round when you are ready to leave.
